VisionCheck — Terms & Conditions

Summary: VisionCheck is a free, offline, self-screening tool. By downloading or using the app you accept these terms, most importantly: it is not a medical device, it does not diagnose anything, and using it does not replace seeing a qualified eye care professional.

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the VisionCheck Android application ("the App"), provided by HomiLabs Solutions SMC Pvt. Ltd. ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. What VisionCheck is — and is not

VisionCheck is a self-screening tool that helps you notice possible changes in your vision using a set of standardised self-tests (distance vision, near vision, astigmatism, contrast sensitivity, an Amsler grid check, and colour vision).

VisionCheck is NOT a medical device and does NOT provide a medical diagnosis. It is a screening filter only. Results indicate whether it may be worth seeing a professional — they are never a substitute for a comprehensive eye examination by a qualified ophthalmologist or optometrist.

If you experience sudden vision loss, severe eye pain, or flashes of light, do not rely on the App — seek emergency medical attention immediately.

3. No account, no data collection

The App requires no account or sign-in and works entirely offline. It does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on any server — everything the App records stays only on your device. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.

4. Age and appropriate use

VisionCheck is designed for use by, or under the supervision of, adults and older children. The App itself flags that it is not designed for children under 13 and directs those users to a paediatric eye specialist instead of running the self-test flow on them.

5. Doctor / practitioner listings (where shown)

Any listing of doctors, optometrists, or opticians shown in the App is based on self-registration by those individuals. We do not independently verify their qualifications, credentials, or availability. Any contact you make with a listed practitioner, and any decision you make based on that listing, is entirely at your own discretion and risk.

6. No warranty

The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or that the App will be error-free or uninterrupted. Self-reported test results depend on factors we cannot control — screen brightness, ambient lighting, viewing distance, and how accurately you follow the on-screen instructions — and are therefore approximate by nature.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, HomiLabs Solutions SMC Pvt. Ltd. and its team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any harm arising from a delayed or missed diagnosis, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the App. The App is a self-screening aid; the responsibility for seeking professional medical care rests with you.

8. Intellectual property

The App, its design, branding, and underlying code are the property of HomiLabs Solutions SMC Pvt. Ltd. unless otherwise noted (for example, the bundled Noto Nastaliq Urdu font, licensed separately under the SIL Open Font License). You may use the App for personal, non-commercial self-screening purposes. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, or redistribute the App outside of the official Google Play listing without our written permission.

9. No cost, no ads, no in-app purchases

VisionCheck is free to download and use. It contains no advertising and no in-app purchases.

10. Changes to the App or these Terms

We may update the App or these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Any update to these Terms will be posted at this same address with a new "Last updated" date.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections that may apply in your own country of residence.
